PAKISTAN HIGH COMMISSIONER TO SRI LANKA CALLS-ON CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF
The newly accredited Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka H.E Major General (retd) Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hilal-i-Imtiaz paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne today (29th November, 2017).
The courtesy call was held at the office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS), at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall ( BMICH).
During the discussion held, Chief of Defence Staff conveyed his gratitude to the nation of Pakistan for the unwavering support extended to Sri Lanka. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a leading military training and aid facilitator of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces.
Subsequent to the discussion held mementos were also exchanged signifying the occasion.
High Commissioner H.E Maj. Gen (retd) Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat Hilal-i-Imtiaz was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in March 1979 and has varied experience of command, staff and instructional appointments. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations (2001) and a Post Doctoral in International Cooperation (2014).
He has authored a book titled 'International Conflict Resolution: Role of the UN and the OIC ', published in 2014.
