'Poppy Day ' Commemoration Begins Pinning Poppy Flower

A representative group of the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen 's Association (SLESA) called on Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne at the OCDS and formally inaugurated the forthcoming Poppy Day (Remembrance Day) commemoration arrangements by pinning the first Poppy flower on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), on 25th October 2019.

Major General EMM Ambanpola, USP (Retd), Chairman, Veterans Home Committee (SLESA) and Rear Admiral, Dr. Shemal Fernando (Retd) Chairman, Poppy Committee (SLESA) met the Chief of Defence Staff and received his blessings for the project and shared a couple of thoughts on arrangements of Remembrance Day and forthcoming activities of SLESA with him. \r\n\r\nRear Admiral, Dr. Shemal Fernando (Retd) pinned the Poppy Day flower on the Chief of Defence Staff and the CDS in return made a symbolic contribution towards the project. \r\n
