A 'RECEPTION AND WELCOME DINNER' IS HOSTED FOR THE 10TH BEIJING XIANGSHAN FORUM

A reception and welcome dinner was hosted by the Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, General Zhang Youxia and the organising committee for the foreign delegates prior to the commencement of the ‘10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum’ at the International Conference Hall, Beijing, China during the evening hours of 29 October 2023.

The defence ministers, military heads, international organisation representatives, experts, scholars and observers of various countries who are to take part in the forum were invited to the dazzling evening.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil along with his spouse Mrs Sujeewa Nelson attended the 'reception and welcome dinner' where they received a warm welcome. During the interaction, General Shavendra Silva thanked the Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China General Zhang Youxia and the government of China for the invitation extended to the Sri Lankan Delegation for the forum and reception. He further conveyed his gratitude for organising these types of forums as they provide the ideal platform for regional security experts to share their knowledge and experience with friendly nations. He also wished the organising authorities for the successful conduct of the forum whilst interacting with the other invitees.

The evening was also coloured with Chinese traditional performances that attracted the visiting invitees.
