THE REPRESENTATIVES FROM GENEVA CENTRE FOR SECURITY POLICY (GCSP) SWITZERLAND CALL ON THE CDS

The representatives from the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) Switzerland, called on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Mphil at the Office of Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) today (27 September 2023).

The delegation headed by Colonel Laurent Currit (Retd), the Course Director was comprised of Course Coordinator Ms Berangere and Defence Attaché Switzerland to Sri Lanka based in New Delhi Colonel Francois Garraud.

The main object of the meeting was to streamline the 6th Defence Attaché Orientation Course which is sponsored by GCSP and coordinated by the OCDS in collaboration with General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). The programme is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from 4th to 9th December 2023.

During the cordial discussion, CDS expressed his deepest gratitude to GCSP for this initiative, and the government of Switzerland for the sponsorship of this training programme which would immensely benefit the local and foreign military officers to enhance their knowledge of military diplomacy before embarking on new diplomatic tenures.

The foreign delegates paid their gratitude to the CDS and staff for the support and assistance extended to the previous courses conducted and wished the same for this year’s sessions as well.

CDS presented a token of mementos to the members of the delegation to mark the occasion.
