RETIRING REAR ADMIRAL ASANGA RANASURIYA CALLS ON CDS

Rear Admiral Asanga Ranasuriya RSP* USP psc of the Sri Lanka Navy, after a landmark career over 33 years to the nation called on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil yesterday (17 August 2023) together with his spouse Mrs Dulmini Ranasuriya.

The CDS during the cordial meeting with the retiring senior naval officer who served at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) as the Director General Naval & Air Operations praised him for his dedicated services rendered.

Rear Admiral Asanga began his naval career with the enlistment to the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy on 14th November 1989 as an Officer Cadet and he obtained the Bachelor of Science degree from the same institution. He is also a recipient of the Master’s Degree in Management from the KDU. Prior to taking over duties at OCDS, Rear Admiral Asanga has been in numerous sea and ashore capacities including the appointment of Director Naval Internal Audit.

Toward the end of the interaction, General Shavendra Silva expressed his best wishes to the retiring Senior Officer and the family for good health and all success in future endeavours. In recognition of his diligent ethics and valuable contribution to the premier Tri-Service Headquarters, the CDS presented an appreciative memento.
