SLESA CELEBRATES 79TH ANNIVERSARY

The Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association (SLESA) celebrated its 79th Anniversary with the graceful presence of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil as the chief guest today (03 September 2023) at the Eagles' Lakeside Banquet and Convention Hall, Attidiya.

Attending the anniversary celebrations at the cordial invitation extended by the President, Major General Upul Perera (Retd) USP and Members of the Executive Committee of the Association, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil congratulated the association for its achievements. CDS also spared time to interact with the war veterans of tri-services present at the occasion and recalled the memories that were filled with gallantry during the operations and commitments in great times. During the interaction, the CDS also wished them and the association for a brighter future.

The day’s programme culminated with the fellowship lunch. The ceremony was attended by the Tri-Forces Commanders and the Sri Lanka Army Colonel Commandants, Colonel of the Regiments and equivalent from the sister services. Over 300 ex-servicemen and women were also present on this occasion.
