THIRD DEFENCE ATTACHÉ ORIENTATION COURSE ENDS ON A SUCCESSFUL NOTE

The third orientation course for the Defence Attachés (DA) was successfully concluded yesterday (20th September) at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) at Rathmalana. A total of 28 including 14 foreign participants representing 12 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Maldives, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, Switzerland, United States and Zambia were awarded with Certificates by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne and H.E. Hanspeter Mock, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Sri Lanka & Maldives who graced the charm closing ceremony held at KDU.

The compressive course ran through 5 days from 16th to 21st September 2019 at the Faculty of Graduate Studies of KDU, giving essential tools for the participants to perform as a successful DA.

The orientation program was co-sponsored by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), an international foundation supported by the Switzerland Government and the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) under the direct supervision of Ministry of Defence.
