A bright and colourful Vesak lantern created by the soldier artisans of the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) was opened for public viewing by General Jagath Jayasuriya, the Chief of Defence Staff in front of his residence at the Stanmore Crescent, Colombo 7 today. The 15 foot revolving lantern is composed of a main lantern set in two layers and 12 sister lanterns. This was a great opportunity for the staff of the OCDS to showcase their creative skills and to celebrate the Vesak.
