DIRECTOR GENERAL OF CIVIL SECURITY DEPARTMENT CALLS ON CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF

Newly appointed Director General of the Civil Security Department, Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris (redt), RSP*, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, DISS called on the Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS), at BMICH on 17th January 2019. This marks the new CSD DG 's first official meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff since assuming duty on 06th December 2019.

Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris joined the Sri Lanka Navy as a Cadet Officer in the Executive branch in 1974. He was adjudged as the Best Sportsman Cadet in 1975 and promoted to the rank Rear Admiral in 2006. His illustrious naval career spanning over 38 years.

Rear Admiral Ananda Peris is a recipient of many awards and decorations such as Rana Soora Padakkama (Twice), Vishista Seva Vibhushanaya, Uttama Seva Padakkama, Purna Bhumi Padakkama, Riviresa Campaign Service Medal, Sri Lanka Navy 50th Anniversary Medal, Sri Lanka Armed Services Long Service Medal and 50th Independence Anniversary Commemoration Medal.

During the cordial discussion held, Admiral Wijegunaratne conveyed his best wishes to the new DG and subsequent to the discussion mementos were also exchanged signifying the occasion.
