One more reviewing discussion with all Task Force members and other stakeholders fighting against transmission of COVID-19 took place this afternoon (19) at the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), co-chaired by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head, NOCPCO and Medical Specialist and Director General of Health Services, Dr Asela Gunawardena.

Extending their helping hand and appreciating unmatched roles of tri-servicemen in the fight against COVID-19, the company, IME Korea and SD Biosensors through their local counterparts after calling at the Commander 's Office this afternoon (18) jointly gifted a stock of facemasks for the use of servicemen, engaged in preventive work and rapid antigen test kits for COVID-19 diagnoses.

General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head, NOCPCO and Medical Specialist and Director General of Health Services, Dr Asela Gunawardena on Wednesday (20) jointly met a representative gathering of private sector laboratory technicians and discussed possibilities of implementing a common regulatory mechanism for conduct of antigen and PCR tests giving priority to BOI approved garment industry employees, those proceeding overseas, workforce in respective hospitals and those set to undergo surgeries in order to streamline and reinforce 100% credibility of such procedures to be in line with guidelines issued by the Director General of Health Services.
