Task Force Members of NOCPCO, Medical Experts, Epidemiologists, PHIs and main stakeholders, engaged in the control of COVID-19 epidemic this afternoon (19) evaluated developments, related to preventive measures, new trends, emergence of global clusters, public gatherings, quarantine procedures, affected cases, forecasts, etc during a special meeting headed by Dr Asela Gunawardene, DGHS and General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head, National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) this afternoon at the NOCPCO.

Sri Lanka Army 's newest contingent of 243 professionally-trained Army personnel in the Combat Convoy Company (CCC), well-prepared to serve in the United Nations (UN) Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), amid best wishes of the General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) left the country for Mali early this morning (21).

Defence Ministry Secretary General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne, together with Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva, Navy Commander, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and Air Force Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Payoe welcomed the visiting Chinese State Councillor and Defence Minister General Wei Fenghe who arrived in Sri Lanka on a two-day formal visit on Tuesday (27) late evening.
