The renovated lake at the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) was declared open today (22nd May). The lake, a part of the Kandawela Estate which houses the prestigious KDU was given a facelift under the Kandawela Lake Restoration Project.

An exhibition to showcase craftsmanship of 20 female soldiers of Tri Services, who completed a six months vocational training course, was held at the J.R Jayawardene Cultural Centre on 05 and 06 June.

The Pakistan National Defence University (NDU) Study tour delegation comprising 19 Officers called on Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke on 09 April 2013 at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff.



WORKSHOP ON COUNSELLING

Three day workshop on counseling commenced on 04 April 2013 in collaboration with the Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA) at University of Colombo. The workshop focused to development a mechanism to improve mental actualization of the service personnel and to educate them in handling special mental disorder situations.



PAKISTAN NAVY (PN) STAFF COURSE DELEGATION VISITS OCDS.

The 42nd Pakistan Navy (PN) staff course delegation comprising 19 Officers called on Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke on 21 March 2013 at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff.



BEAUTY CULTURE COURSE FOR THE WOMEN SOLDIERS.

The second successive Beauty Culture Course sponsored by the Seri Natural (pvt) Ltd conducted for 29 Tri Services female soldiers, concluded on 28 Feb 2013.



CDS VISITS THIRIYAYA.

Subsequently, on 03 February 2013, the Chief of Defence Staff visited Sri Lanka Army deployments in Thiriyaya area and met with the area Commanders.

On 02 February 2013, the CDS visted 22 Division,Trincomalee, and a meeting was held with the high ranking Officers of the Security Forces and the Police in Trincomalee sector.



CDS VISITS WANNI.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke visited the Security Forces Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ –W) on 01 February 2013 and was received by Major General MHSB Perera, Security Forces Commander (Wanni) on arrival. The CDS held a discussion with the senior security forces and police officers of the area at SFHQ (W).



US GOVERNMENT DELEGATION CALLS ON CDS.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence of United States of America Mr. Vikram Singh called on Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke RWP & bar, VSV,USP,ndc,psc on 28 January 2013 at the OCDS. He was accompanied by the US Defence Attaché in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Patrik Schuler.



CDS VISITS INDIA.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke along with a high level defence delegation, visited India from 22 to 26 January 2013.



Parliamentary Delegation of Australia meets Sri Lankan Defence Officials at the OCDS.

A Parliamentary Delegation of Australia led by Hon. Julie Bishop MP, Deputy Leader of Opposition met with Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal WDRMJ Goonetileke and held discussions on 31 December 2012 at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff.


Hon. Scott Morrison MP, Hon. Michael Keenan MP, along with the Australian High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Ms. Robyn Mudie accompanied the Australian Deputy Leader of Opposition at this event.
The Commander of the Navy, Inspector General of Police, Chief of National Intelligence and Deputy Director Coast Guard joined the Chief of Defence Staff at this bilateral meeting.
