The Brain child of The Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, in collaboration with the International Institute of Human Resource Management (IIHRM) conducted a five-day workshop on Value to Current Leadership Practices in the Military from 24th to 28th March 2014. The workshop was held at Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Rock House Camp, Mutwal.

Dr PB Jayasundera, Secretary to the Treasury delivered a lecture on 'Sri Lanka 's Economy and Emerging Trends for Commercial Stability ' on Monday (23) evening at the auditorium of the Military Hospital Colombo. The lecture organized by the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff was well attended by approximately three hundred senior officers of the Tri Services headed by Tri Service Commanders and a host of senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and Planning.\r\n\r\nDr Jayasundera who was introduced to the audience by the Chief of Defence Staff engaged in a candid discourse that captivated the audience.

Delegates attending SASEAN Defence Chiefs Dialogue were hosted for tea on board Russian Destroyer "Yaroslav Mudriy†in the evening on 27 November 2014. Chief of Defence Staff, Sri Lanka General Jagath Jayasuriya and many visiting Defence Chiefs were present on board the destroyer. Hon Anatoly Antonov, Deputy Defence Minister of Russian Federation leading Russian delegation for SASEAN Defence Chief Dialogue and His Excellency Ambassador of Russia for Sri Lanka welcomed the dignitaries on board. " Yaroslav Mudriy that called on Port of Colombo Sri Lanka on a good will visit on 24 November left Sri Lanka on 28 November.
